What is MAF?

MAF, or Mission Aviation Fellowship

MAF began as the vision of a group of Christian WWII pilots who wanted to use airplanes to help overcome the barriers to reaching isolated people.  Their first flight was to Mexico in 1946 and was flown by a former WASP pilot, an incredible lady named Betty Greene.  Today we provide aviation, communication, and learning technology services in 14 countries throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America to over 600 organizations worldwide, bringing Christ and his love to the remote and isolated.

Grady & Holly will be working on the aviation side of things, helping transport national church leaders/pastors, missionaries, humanitarian workers, Christian doctors, medicine, supplies, and Bibles in northern Mozambique. In a given day we may fly national pastors to a village for church planting work, bring a bible translator much needed supplies, tell a sick air ambulance passenger about Jesus' love for them, and haul anti-malaria medicine to remote clinics.  Did you know that a full day of travel by landrover is usually less than an hour flight in one of our Cessna aircraft?

A lot more fascinating information on MAF and pictures of our operations can be found at www.maf.org.
